I'm here to encourage you with some new ideas that will perhaps help you stay on track and continue with your results. Let's go:


Let me ask you this: how are you getting on with your fat loss resolutions so far this year? Time marches on whether you are keeping up or not, so let’s get on board and stay for the ride. I’m here to encourage you with some new ideas that will perhaps help you stay on track and continue with your results. Let’s go:

1. First, choose something that you enjoy doing. It could be any number of sports or recreation, it could be a class, it could be a boot camp in Huntington Beach, it just has to be something that you don’t hate!

2. Next, put that new activity into your schedule. Here’s the deal: you schedule other appointments and dates, so why not schedule your workouts? Simply write it in your book, and stick to the appointment just like any other.

3. Involve friends for accountability. If you tell others your goals, you’re more likely to keep them. Working out with a friend is also more fun! If you go to boot camp class, you will see your friends at every session. They can also encourage you and push you to reach your goals and keep you on track!

4. Fourth is to reward yourself and buy some new exercise outfits. Many people like to workout in old rags. I myself cannot get motivated when I look like about to go paint the house or work in the yard. When I put my new shoes on and feel good about myself in my new clothes, I will be much more likely to hit the gym or go for a run. Please don’t reward a good week of workouts with junk food, though!

5. Mix it up. To ward off workout boredom and to keep your muscles guessing, try something new every week. If you normally walk on the treadmill, try the stair master, or the bike. If you always do bicep curls first, try shoulder presses instead. At boot camp, we always do a different full body workout every session. This keeps your attention and helps build more muscle and burn more fat!

Perhaps with those simple ideas you will be able to continue working towards your health and fitness goals this new year. It’s important to be willing to continue to try, and try new things, and never give up. Give these things a try and the next time a friend wants to go for a latte, how about a walk on the beach instead?
