More people than ever are overweight today. Some estimates have sixty percent of us overweight or obese. While your definition may vary, you likely would like to lose a few pounds.
Most people would rather relax with a bowl of chips and a TV remote control that eat oatmeal and hit up the stair climber every day. When people want to lose weight, they’d like to hurry up and get it over with.
Lets look at our options. There are those diets where you are only allowed to eat super small, pre-measured portions. They usually work pretty good, for about a week. Then when you are starving, and cheat, you gain all the weight back.
There are diets that suggest you don’t eat an entire group of foods, like carbs. These work pretty well too. There is, however, one major problem with this method. Carbs taste really, really good. Bread, toast, muffins, you name it, they are delicious. Quit them for life? No way.
There is always exercise. You can run on the treadmill for an hour every night. This is hard on your joints, requires tremendous willpower, and is incredibly boring. Not many people can keep this up either.
So what can we do? Does every weight loss method come with built in drawbacks that make them impossible for the average Jane? Should we just give up, grab the remote and the ice cream and be done with it?
Actually, no. Dieting doesn’t mean starving yourself, or eating only raw food that was grown at a local commune. Exercising doesn’t mean punishing yourself for all your sins, for at least an hour every night.
The trick is to make small changes that you can live with. Once you are used to them, make some more small, easy to accept changes. And keep this up, and you’ll be eating healthy, exercising every day, and showing off your sexy body to everybody. And it will all seem normal.
